    Kitchen drain leaking by gasket
Our kitchen drain has bequn to leak by the gasket. I attempted to replace the putty but when its twisted tight it still leaks. Gasket seems stretched out. What steps should I take to stop it from leaking?

    Hi PH

Two realistic choices when a gasket gets stretched out:

Get some 1/8" gasket material (called rainbow packing up in my area) and cut a new gasket OR simply purchase another basket strainer.

If you get a new basket strainer (approx. $15.00) get one that has the 1.5" nut (see image), not the 3.5" nut (see other image)... you can thank me later... ;)
