Normal post wisdom teeth extraction symptoms or mouth infection?
On 2/20/13 I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed. The bottom two had been partially impacted (halfway through the gumline ) for two years. When removed the dentist found a lot of bacteria that had been trapped under the tooth where I could not brush. He tried to remove as much as he could but there was still a lot there. I am taking clyndimycin as my antibiotic as I am allergic to pennicilins. It has been approximately 26 hours since the procedure. My mouth is still bleeding strongly. And my cheeks are both very swollen, hard, and sore to touch. I am curious if my mouth is so swollen and bloody because of the common recovery symptoms from my wisdom teeth being extracted, or if the lingering bacteria after the extraction is causing an infection.

It could be either one. I had my wisdom teeth removed and they had to take some bone with them... The next day, I was a little sore but pretty much fine overall. My sister had hers done with no complications but she was swollen for a few days and thought the world was going to end.

Give it a few days and see what happens.
