    Change of mother name
I wanted to add my biological mothers name in my Indian passport. My stepmother passed away. My father married my biological mother legally after stepmom's death. My biological mother has my original birth certificate that holds my name, father's name and her name. With this document will I be able to change my mother name in my Indian passport. Please advice

I'm confused - is your stepmother's name on your Passport now? Did you submit a false application that you are now trying to correct or are you adding your mother's name for some other reason?

I think you are causing yourself needless complcations.

India is probably the only country in the world that put parents' name on passports. Contact the embassy to get the answer, this is different from ours.

My personal take... if I were you, I won't do anything, especially if going to immigration process in US or elsewhere.

TQ so much for getting back.
    To answer your question:
    1) I used valid family aadhar card while applying passport
    2) I came to know that she was not my biological mother after her death
    3) I am us now I want to bring my biological mother however my passport holds my step mom' name
    4) the only proof I have now my mom's marriage certificate , step mom's and dad's death certificate , marriage certificate of my father and biological mothers and my original birth certificate

Will these document help me change my mother's name in Indian passport

I know my case is complicated, please check and revert
