Portable Kenmore Ultra Wash Mod 665-17769 not starting.
Anyone: replaced the control board on this washer last week. Ran fine then today after loading I attempted to start a new wash. Start button has no light and machine will not start. Several of the buttons will light up but buttons that initiate reset cycle will not. Checked the Thermal fuse, It reads zero Ohms. Jumper-ed out the fuse and tried machine again. Still will not start, but same buttons as above will light up. No moisture in the control box area and nothing appears burnt or discolored. Incoming water temp is a little under 120.

Last cycle that ran completed normal and there were no issues. Machine sounds fine and no water was left in tub. Heating element is clean and has no residue. ANY suggestions would be great as what to check next.

Whatever burned up the circuit board was not changed and it burned up another one, which is to be expected. Circuit boards do not burn up on their own. Something is grounded or shorted and this will keep burning up boards until you replace it. Never replace a part without checking the appliance with an ohm meter.

Thanks Drtom.. I tested last time and found the board bad. The Thermal Fuse was good, today I tested it and it has ZERO resistance. Also just dissembled the entire front and found a ground that was rusted out. Also the control panel ribbon cable has 4 areas that appear to be burned and it just happens to be the buttons that stopped working. So completely sanded all the rust out, coated it with OSPHO rust proffer and will get a new control panel and ordered 2 new Thermal fuses.+ Harnesses any other suggestions on things to check? Side note as I live outside the US it is a pain in the backside getting stuff down here. So it takes a while to get repairs done.. Thanks Again

Try cleaning everything. Take it apart and really clean it well and you will prevent a lot of problems.
