I am an international student on F1 visa, I am only allowed to work part time -on-campus, but my sponsor can not help me anymore so I am looking for an off-campus job to help cover my expenses.

I was offered a contract job but they need me to file 1099 for, can I do that??

I am also planning to do OPT after graduation, would that affect my OPT process??

IRS don't care what your status is as long as you pay taxes. They don't report to immigration.
