I have a Calypso that was bought in 2001 and I need to know if anyone can give me directions as to how to do a diagnostic test.

What is the problem. There could be any number of tests. At 12 years old, may be better to replace if it is a significant issue .

Get a volt/ohm meter and follow the directions to test components. There are many solenoid coils in this machine as there are in all of them.
