No. You either have a very powerful sense of smell and something has died (a mouse, or some other rodent) in your home, and you smell it. It could also be an issue with plumbing, or something else that's causing odor in your house. It could be your own body odor.
If this is a concern, see a doctor.
My bo is fine and no rodents or anything like that in my place of living this smell comes and goes and I'm the only 1 that can smell it no one else can
Then see your doctor. It could be a rotten tooth. It could be a medical condition.
I thought something was off in my home and nobody else was noticing it. Then I realized that it was my sweatshirt. Apparently one of my family members, trying to be helpful, did a lot of laundry, left it in the machine for two days, then put it in th dryer. The clothes smelled of mildew, which really did smell like death.
You can also smell things that are off if you have an infection in your throat, nose or ears that other people might not notice. It can be very strong to you.
When people speak of the smell of death, they are either speaking in metaphore, or are referring to something that's already dead and is decayed. Sometimes dying people can smell badly, but not when they are running around living a normal life. I'm talking about bed-bound people who are ravaged with disease.
It can also be imaginary - not that you don't smell it, but that your brain is tricking you.
You posted this in medical, so the logical medical reason will be a tooth or stomach or sinus issue that only you can smell.
If you put this in the sprititual area one may say that some people believe they can "smell death" and do so before someone they know dies. Death has a smell, most people who were in war zones can tell you
I have smelled death at times, of animals. One was a neighbor's cat I had to put in a box until they got home. A very sweet but pungent smell of recent death, maybe a day. One is the ongoing smell of dead mice behind cabinets and walls. That is a horrible smell that makes me gag. Another is dead fish when I lived on a lake. But I doubt that there is much difference in decomposition among all mammals (as opposed to fish). It's what stage the decomp is in that determines how it smells.
