Hi I need electric in my shed to run lights and recepticles. My house is 150 ft away. What gauge wire do I use to attach from house to shed?

To begin with, you would need a 4 wire feed from your main panel to to the shed.

Next you need to tell us the load in amps that you need. Without that information we cannot size the conductors.

I asked home depot, they are just salesman. I really need someone with knowledge to tell me. I want to do this right. They will sell you anything but what you need.

So you are asking for every last piece of material you need? Do have any clue where to start? Or do you need every detail about this job?

You need to start, like Don said, by telling us what you will be running. "Saws" does not really help.
How big of a shed is this?
Is this a wood shop? Auto shop? Will there be a welder? What kind of saws? How many working? Just you?

Have you done any electrical work before?

Most likely a 30A feeder will be fine. 50A will probably serve you better in the long run. 90-100A may be even better depending on your plans.
You'll need a panel with a main disconnect, or simply a main breaker panel.
A ground rod, most likely two to meet code.
Breakers obviously, sized to the circuits you'll run the shed.
Receptacle boxes sized appropriately to the wires run.
Receptacles, including GFI receptacles since all standard 15 & 20A 120V receptacle will require GFI protection.
Lighting, switches, etc.

There is a lot more, this is just the beginning.
