    Sleeping while pregnant
Hi I have been trying to fall asleep and I can't because ill be to hot or to cold. I try and find a comfortable way to sleep but I'm used to sleeping on my stomach and I know that's a bad thing to do while pregnant so I don't. So is there anyway I can sleep comfortably?

Hi rollie, unfortunately herbal teas are not recommended during pregnancy, there are special body pillows you can buy that make a pregnant lady more comfortable during the night, and sleeping on the left side is said to be beneficial for sleep. Meditation also helps. Visit your library and get a book on Chakras to say for sleep.

Here are some tips I dug up for aiding sleep while pregnant:

    1. Try aromatherapy - lavender oil is very soporific and safe to use during pregnancy. Try a few drops in your bath or on a tissue under your pillow.

    2. Make sure the room is dark enough - fit black out blinds or try an eye mask.

    3. Change the room temperature - some people find it easier to drop off to sleep in a cool room.

    4. Sometimes getting up and doing something helps, rather than lying awake fretting about not being able to get to sleep.

    5. Talk to someone - sometimes it helps to get your problems off your chest. Speaking to a friend or partner about your worries can help you to put things into perspective. A mind full of worries isn't conducive to good sleep.

    6. The homeopathic remedy coffea has proved useful - talk to a qualified homeopathic doctor before you try this.

    7. Eat more bananas! - In Thailand they are used as a cure for insomnia, they contain trytophan, which is a natural sleep aid.

    8. Tonic water - apparently the quinnine it contains is useful for calming restless legs.

You are barely pregnant, under 6 WEEKS, so sleep however you want.

Rollie, I suggest you level with everyone here, as your stories are getting more and more unrealistic.

You only got out of treatment 4 weeks ago. How could you be 8 weeks pregnant?

I know right! So, like, I'm totally bad with dates. I go to work on Monday night and come home on Tuesday morning. Totally not a life conducive to remembering what day of the week or month it is. But I DO remember what I did a month ago versus two months ago. Like TOTALLY!
