You can file a return for 3 years ago and probably get a refund for any jobs that had witholding, plus probably get the Earned Income Credit.
BUT what do you mean 'off your dad?' You are an adult.

You can file tax returns for 2009, 2010 and 2011 and still get refunds.

For 2008 and earlier, all refunds have been forfeited.
