After recently having a couple of bad years through the perimenopause having very bad Migraines I have discovered that if I stop eating chocolate they virtually seem to stop. I have tested this by abstaining then eating again and every time I eat chocolate about two weeks later I will get crashing Migraines with vomiting all day. When I stop I sometimes get a very minor pain and slight quesiness but nothing like previous. I have always enjoyed chocolate and have never had a problem before only since I have started having hormonal imbalances due to Perimenopause. Why is this? I have medication but I like to enjoy chocolate and have been terrified to eat it fearing an attack. I have read this can happen at this time while going through changes in this way but has anyone else suffered this and what can I do about it. I have thought about Acupuncture and whether this would help make the headaches go away as they are really frightening me. Can anyone help?
