Hello! I am a fourteen year old girl, I will be fifteen in a few months. I recently went through a big growth spirt and I grew about 3 inches over about 5 months. I have been having yellowish whitish discharge for about 3 years now, it has an odor. I have leg, pubic and underarm hair that has been there for a long time. I have very small boobs(I can barley fill out a 32A). I am 5' 6" and weigh 115 pounds. I eat rather healthy and I am a dance. I dance for 2 and a half hours every day. All of my friends have their periods, but I am the only one on my whole dance team(45 girls) who doesn't have it. I talked to my mom about it and she said she got hers when she was just about 14. She grew big breasts just after that. Why haven't I gotten my period? What are some signs I could be getting it? Are there ways to induce it? Thanks!

Have you discussed the discharge with your mom, that is a possible sign of an infection.

There is no way to guess when it will happen, there is no predictor, at 14 it should be starting soon.

Many athletes have this issue. You are a healthy weight for your age and height, so it shouldn't be a factor, but, dancing as much as you do, which is a physical thing, can delay your period. Many athletes that have gotten a period for years, suddenly stop when they're in training, exercising daily,

The time to see a doctor is when you're 16. If you don't get it by then, then you should find out why. At 14, almost 15, there's really not much to worry about. Some girls get it a bit later than others. I was 14, my mother was 16, I had a friend that was 7 when she got her first period. It all depends on the person.

For now, enjoy your period free life. Trust me, it's not fun, and you'll have it for many many many years after you get it. Enjoy this time while it lasts, and don't worry, you'll get it before you know it. :)
