The power went out yesterday for a few hours and now one of my ceiling fans and light will not work. It has a remote and also has a pull chain. Neither of these things will get the fixture to work at all. Is it fried? Can it be fixed?

Hi there,
I found a similar post from another user where they are asking the same thing, and there is an answer posted there. Try this FAQ - I had a power surge in the home and now my ceiling fan will not turn on. What should I do?
Thank you so much. No sounds are coming out of it at all. I'm pretty sure it's fried. I've switched the circuits on and off and have tested the outlets in the room and they are fine.
It sounds like it might be fried. There is a link on that page too to a wiring FAQ. That FAQ recommends to try skipping the receiver and wire the fan directly to a hot lead - that way if the receiver is fried, the fan will still turn
If this does not work I think you might be SOL
Good luck - be careful with the wiring that you don't hurt yourself
