I am going to finish high school soon and want to move to the US, what are the steps?
At the end of the year I want to leave to America but I'm confused with all these visas and green card types. I want to know what I'm supposed to do and what types of visas and green cards I should take.

I don't have a job and not married and might not study but that depends on what I find in America, what I want to do. I live in South Africa at the moment and its becoming crazy so I want to leave quickly as soon as Ive finished school.

I need a guide on what steps to take.

You don't get a choice of any visa or green card until you have a job and some money behind you, and at least some personal history before you can even think of relocating to another country.

You may get a tourist visa that only allows you to visit and then return to your nation.
You will need to review the US immigration department web site about the various visa.

If you want to go to college in US, you must apply for student visa (F-1) which requires sponsor, and you are not allowed to work, except 20 hours/wk on campus job only.

If you only want to visit US, you can apply for visitor's visa (B-2), but the chance to get a visa is slim.
