Terminating an automatic 1 year renewal lease with less than 60 days required notice
My daughter went to give notice today that they would not be renewing the lease which ends in 45 days. The original lease states 60 notice is given or the lease is automatically renewed for 1 year. The management company said tough luck, you are bound to another year. She asked if they stayed an extra month so she would be giving 75 days notice, if that would be okay and was told no.

Is there anything she can do? She and finance plan to move home for a few months to add to their savings to buy a house. They completely painted and improved the property. If she is able to contact the home owner and he agreed could he overrule the management company?

    Thanks for any help.

Yes, the owner can overrule the management company. Does the lease not have a buyout clause? What about finding someone to sublet? And tell your daughter she needs to read what she signs more carefully.
