The material is like shingles, but it comes in a roll. What do you think that might cost?

A little or a lot... nobody can guess because we don't have crystal balls.

Too many unknown variables, too many different manufacturers.. too many regional price differences.

How about paying a visit to your local roofing supply store (the best option if there is one you can find)... or hardware store. See what they have.. and see if its close to what you are thinking about.

I'm not a roofer... but at the local Home Depot I've seen big variances... you get what you pay for... and the Roofing supply houses will get the better quality products than the local Big Box store will.

Roll roofing should only be used in low slope situations and has a short lifespan. I would only use it as a low cost temp roof on a shed, not a house.

Back in the day it was used for all sorts of small roofs and decks, even flat ones, with roofing tar along the seams, and yes it wore out and leaked and cracked, but then it was just done again. It was cheaper than anything else at the time.

Rolled roofing is designed to be glued down with SIS cement that is troweled on. There are 2 kinds. One is 34'' revel with 2'' overlap. The other has a 17'' revel with 19'' overlap.

If you glue down the tar paper and then the roofing you will get a very good water seal. Life expectancy is about 10 years.

You will have to go to a roofing supply house to get this type of roofing.

The rolled roofing comes in 'roofing rolls' - squares that are approximately 100 sq. ft.. Or something around 36 feet long by 36 inches wide. One roll will cost you around $35-$40 per square (100 sq. ft.), this doesn't include the cement which costs around $60-$70 per 3.5-Gal which covers around 43-3/4 sq. ft. per 3.5-gal. pail.

Very Good Information. Bad area of the roof is only 36"x 36" over the tool room
Only leak under heavy rain. Two pieces of Wood are bad and the roll roofing has separated on the seam.
