    W-2 is for wages, not contract work. That should get you a 1099. If you don't get one, you file anyway. Since no taxes are taken out, all you need to know is the gross. If it's not just a little job in addition to a wage job, you have to file as self-employed using long 1040, Sch C, and Sch SE.
