My boyfriend went to see his p.o. And never came back home and haven't heard from him ( he was on probation for selling to an undercover cop).. Most likely he was violated for bad drug tests ( he had different drugs in his system). I believe they put him into a rehab. If so how long will he be there? Or what could have happened? This is in New York

I think the BEST person to ask would be his PO. If you explain who you are and your concerns ( and ask nicely) , he will probably tell you everything you need to know.

Typically when someone has their probation violated they are locked up until they see a judge which is usually a few days. They then have a hearing to determine what happens.

At worst , he will have to serve the balance of his probation time in jail. That's why they call it probation.

He will be held in detention till a hearing before a judge, this can be a week or up to 6 weeks in some areas. At the hearing, the judge will decide to put him back on probation, or make him serve all or part of the probation back in prison.

So he may be back in a week, or he may serve the entire probation time in prison
