I know a person who when he was 20 years old and living at home a request in person by 2 uniformed officers was made to appear before a Judge in a county court. He has no idea to this day why this happened. He complied even though there was no reason for it at the time. This request was made while in his parents home. After appearing before the Judge with no explanation he believes there was a suspended sentence and he was taken to a Crisis Intervention Center for evaluation. Would any of this result in a record criminal or otherwise?
This was over 30 years ago and he also is wondering if there is any files on record at the court house that might be available?

Your description really sounds like there was a criminal incident ( suspended sentence) I cannot believe that this person has no idea what happened. The judge HAD to say something as to why a person is before them.

If you only ever appeared before a judge once in your entire life , you would remember why you were there. Even thirty years later.

I can remember my first traffic ticket in 1980 like it was yesterday.

Too much missing from the story, two officers do not go to your home and then take you in front of a judge. The officers take you to jail, where you are detained and latter either given bail or detained, then you get an appearance before a judge.

And he was 20, he should have known what was going on, in court he wold have been charged.

Ok so this is what else the officers showed some document and did not allow him to read it or explain what it was. He was taken to the court held until what he assumes was an interview with a District attorney, which not sure if they had them back then, taken to court room ask by some person who would not show themselves what he had to say for himself. Basically he thinks he was unlawfully restrained. He would like to know the names of the court officers so maybe prove just that. Can that be done legally?

To add so more details the officers took him to the court and after a short time was taken before what may have been a District attorney, if they had them back then, nothing was explained or said. Then taken to court room and asked to explain what he had to say for himself. Is this a little odd yet? Do you think there is some other reason other than a criminal one for this to happen.

They had a paper, most likely an arrest warrant, or a warrant to appear for questioning,
He would know what it is about, again, he is not telling you the truth about this, or he has forgotten all the details.
No they do not have to show it to him the paper work if they had a order to arrest or an order to being him before the judge for questioning

Was he on probation at the time ? Did he have a prior criminal record?

No probation No prior record. He says the paper or court document was taken from him before he was able to read it or question it. Oh and he says the vehicle the officers were in had no markings indicating its authority. What about legal representation should he have had any or can they just drag you into court and make a fool out of a person. Mind this in 1976 and I think the legal system went through some changes since then.

Is there any way your "friend" could make his own account here? It would be more helpful to discuss this in first person with the one who actually experienced this.

What you and/or your friend describe does NOT happen in these United States, and that was true in 1976 as well. There are NO secret witnesses.. There re NO secret police. He WOULD have paperwork. He WOULD have the opportunity to hire a lawyer...

It sounds like it COULD happen in Mexico or Bulgaria, but NOT here.

However, in answer to your original question, if this happened in a country courthouse, they HAVE records.. I'd look 'em up, if I was you.
