Well I'm not mad or anything but, nothing I do impresses my dad he never notices me do anything good, only when I do something bad and it really just hurts inside knowing that I'm another day away from dissapointing him again and that I can't make him proud... I passed my aptitude and fitness test and actually got into the military as I'm currently doing and still... not even I'm proud of you...

He may not hate you at all. He may be just like my dad was and have a very difficult time showing that he cares. It took me a long time to realize that is just the way he was and that it wasn't that he hated me or was disappointed. I always heard when I did something wrong but never when I did something good.

Bottom line though, and I'm telling you this from experience, live for you and not for him. Never mind what he says or does... do what you got to do. In time, as you get older, you may figure him out. If you don't, you'll be OK as long as you don't spend every day trying to get him to approve of you... as long as you approve of you, that's what's going to make the difference.
