What is the valve regulator pressure converter for a coleman 7665856
I was changing the thermocoupler in my furnace and what I think is the valve regulator pressure converter's little black nob came off and fell into a hole in the floor where the gas pipe comes up. Is this going to be a problem? Where can I find an other one? It is for a coleman 7665856. I am afraid to light the pilot until I get the answer to this question.
Your help would be greatly appreciated
    Thank you
    Dorothy

Your worries are justified. Without knowing exactly what part "fell off", I would certainly not lite the unit until you have a qualified tech come take a look at it. Depending on the part that fell off, you may be putting your life and dwelling in serious danger by lighting the unit.

Hi thank you for your response. I do know what the part is, It is a cap on the valve regulator pressure converter. There is a picture of it on the front of the unit and it is named. I'm just not sure if the cap serves any function other than keeping the top of the valve clean or not. I've sprayed the top with soapy water and there is no bubbling and the water does not disappear. Sorry I should have been more positive about the name on my first post.

On my regulator, that cap compresses the regulator pressure spring and shaft. It flips over from LPG to NG. I know that my stove will not operate properly without it. Hopefully, yours is a bit different.
