I have an MTD snowblower. My problem is only the right side of the auger turns , the left side does not

Sounds like the shear pin is broken or missing on the auger. You need to look at the one that doesn't turn and compare it to the one that does. There will be what looks like a bolt going through the shaft on the one that does turn and an empty hole on the other one.
