Pancreatitis chronic Raised liver enzymes lab results 4400
Mom has been in the hospital since Monday Feb 28th, they admitted her from the ER after they said she has Raised liver enzymes with lab results of 4400 that should be in the double digits. They have tried clear liquid diets twice then took them away all she is allowed is ice chips they have her on IV and banana bag. Doctor this morning said her level is now 900 and she has been on ice for three days. No one seems to want to tell me anything and I have notice a lot of posters all over the hospital photos of Nurses and Doctors talking over a patients records. Top of the poster said something to the effect of be careful about what you say.
I lost someone close to me from stage 4 no small cell lung cancer and they kept doing the same thing... NOTHING... If they were a little more strait forward with us we would have done thing A LOT differently! Instead of the "could be 5 or more years we just don't know" instead it was 6 months and the treatments were pointless and painful. Thanks in advance

I understand your predicament and your urgency in wanting to know more about your mom's condition, but unable to tell you much not knowing the whole picture as we certainly cannot do that here. Absolutely impossible to do this on the internet; but I do agree someone has to sit down with you and discuss your mom's condition which I take it is a failing liver.

I am sorry I cant, or we can't take this any further for you, but I really don't understand what exactly your question is other then you want us to tell you what is going on with your mom.

Yes she had a seizure 2 years ago and liver failure... yes she is a drinker. Not as bad as the many years before but she still won't quit. She also has brain damage from the liver failure, warniky encephelopa I don't know the spelling but she has short term memory loss and a huge Hernia in her stomach

Well then you know the prognosis is not good, hang in there. Get those doctors to talk!

Is the hospital in a major centre somewhere. US or Canada?

Well they released her on Tuesday. Odd to me though they released her while she was still on clear liquid diet with exit papers stating she can go back to regular diet follow up with reg docotor today. I took her yesterday instead just so they couldn't say I wasn't following orders. She gained 22ls in her 8 day stay and now her legs and feet look like the stay puff marshmellow man. He gave her pills for the swelling and ordered bood work to be done elsewhere with in a couple days . 7 meds have been prescribed since her release and they also sent with me all her lab work. I called the CEO of the last hospitol I took her to and posted here about it https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/other-...er-732490.html at her appointment yesterday I asked if I could have a copy of all her records from there... He stopped then said "why you going to get a lawyer?" I told him I needed all of her medical records for follow-up on apeal to her personal long term dissability company (seperate issues) but he never would give the paperwork to me even though I came in with a noterized copy of DMPOA. They also not sure if it was a mistake upon discharge gave me alll of the lab results.. clip board punch holes were still in them. Hopefully you seee this..
