    f1, opt and h1 status in 2006
    Hi,

I am an indian resident and I have had 3 status in the year 2006.

    1. I was under f1 - student status from jan 1 - feb 18. I was working in my school in chicago as a student emploee. Will I get a refund of medicare and ss tax?

    2. I was under opt status from feb 19 - oct 31.
2 (a) I was working in my school in chicago as a student emploee from feb 19- may 5
2 (b) I was working for a company in chicago from June 1 - oct 31 under my opt. my employer did not deduct federal tax, state tax or ss and medicare because I was under opt. will I be liable to pay any of the above taxes since they were not deducted from my paycheck

    3. I was under h1b status from nov 1 - dec 31. I was working with the same company. The company then deducted my medicare and ss tax. It still did not cut my federal and state taxes.

How do I file my taxes in this scenario. Which forms should I use. Do I still use 1040 NR EZ form, and 843 form

Let me know how would you work in this scenario

    Thank you

File Form 1040NR-EZ and Form 8843 for one last time. In 2007, you will file as a resident alien.

The only way I alter this advice is if you are married.
