I have a Sylvania flat screen TV that keeps turning off that still has a perfect picture that keeps turning itself off and sometimes turns itself back on again. Can someone tell me why and what to do? I had it pluged into an extension cord but then plugged it into the wall thinking that is what was causing it, but it is still doing it. This TV was given to me and they had it for a while before they gave it to me. Can someone help me figure out what is going on? I took the batteries out of the remote and it still does it and I put new batteries in the remote too and it still does it. So I know it is not the remote. Thank you all for your help...

Betting you are not in a single family home, am I right? There are only so many frequencies that can be used by manufacturers, maybe aneighbor has the same frequency, if so you should be able to turn their's off too.
