    Apartment 'unknown' history.
I'm trying to find the name of a man who had a fatal "accident" at an apartment complex in Colorado spring... is there any way I can get that info online?

Is the local newspaper available on line?

Probably not, but you can call the CS public library's reference desk to find out how to get this information.

Give them whatever info you have -- names, date, type of accident or situation. Librarians aren't magicians (although sometimes we are). :)

Why is searching the newspaper on line not a good idea?

I was answering her, not you. (You and I posted at the same time.) I suggested library simply because people don't usually know how to do searching or can't for some reason. If the OP has good details and keywords, then searching local newspapers is a wonderful idea. Otherwise, if the OP doesn't feel confident or can't, a librarian will pick the OP's brain for keywords and will run a newspaper search herself (if the librarian is female).

You probably need a subscription to get into the newspaper(s). That's what is happening to the Chicago papers.

No problem - OP asked about online and that's what I answered and then the thread went to the library. I wondered why on line wasn't working.

"Here" you can Google search by name and the newspaper article shows up.

We could do that here with the Chicago papers up until recently, but now they want a paid subscription or payment for search results. They will show the article but make it unreadable, so you have to cough up money to be able to read it. (The print versions are dying with fewer subscribers, so the newspapers are looking for ways to make money -- free enterprise at its best.)

Note that you and I had posted at the same time.
