How does a claim against a person's estate work legally? What will I be expected to do as my lawyer filed a claim in my behalf.

Yes, in my case it is arrears that have been set in future payments. There was no back child support paid although he owed it. The arrears were forwarded to help support her in college.

Do I stand a chance to collect future payments for her? What if he signed everything over to his wife and left nothing in his name?. in my case it is arrears that have been set in future payments.
