Jessica has to mow the lawn. She mowed 1/3 then took a break. She then mowed 1/4 and took another break. Then she mowed 2/10 of the lawn. She went to a friend's house and did not finish the lawn. How much was left to mow?

1/3 + 1/4 + 2/10 or (1/5) = ****
LCD = 3 x 4 x 5 =60 , therefore...
20/60 + 15/60 + 12/60 = 47/60 completed; and 13/60 yet to be mowed
Thank you. What is the fraction to be mowed? I was thinking 1/4, 2/3, something like that.
To be mowed is 13/60 ths or a lottle more than 1/5
Thank you.
1/3 + 1/4 + 2/10 =
change it to the same common denominator , a number that 3, 4, and 10 will divide into evenly, like 60. So,
20/60 + 15/60 + 12/60 = 47/60, so
that leaves 13/60; which cannot be broken down into simpler terms.
This problem is actually adding fractions with different denominators.
