How to claim tution fees for elementary school kid.
    Hi,
I am sending my 4th grade son to sylvan tutoring classes as he needs some help with language arts, when I enrolled him they said I can claim this in taxes and gave their tax id too, ( I didn't request). But when I was filing my taxes online - I see the options only for college going kids. Can you just give info regarding this how I can claim these tution fees.

    Thank you

You CANNOT claim Sylvan tutoring as a tax deduction or credit.

That only applies for classes beyond high school.

Based on your experience you can claim the fee. I would suggest $20 to $25 per hour. You can also clarify with other tutors you know. If interested you can become a private tutor by visiting www.tutorz.com
