My mom and dad met when they were in high school but were never married. They had me when they were 19 and I lost my mom when I was 2. My dad said she wasn't fit to be a parent but I want to find that out for myself. Can any one help me out?

How old are you now? Do you have her full name, date of birth? This may not be complicated.

But remember for the court to give custody to the father, normally the mother has to have serious parent issues, and/or gave up custody.

So when you look, do not contact directly, have a 3rd party make first contact.

She may have no desire to see you, she may be remarried with family and they may not even know about you.
She may love to see you, or she may want to use you if you find her. She may hate you and curse you or spit at you.

So don' expect too much.

Also why can't you accept what your dad is telling you.
