UL approval

If you are looking at one, it will have a UL approval tag if so rated. Most wood stoves are not submitted for UL approval and work just fine. UL has nothing to do with how good an item is or if it will meet your needs, it is only a safety related function. Depending on where you live, a wood stove may have to be EPA certified. .
