My Kenmore washer stopped either in the middle of a cycle or at the end (I'm not sure). Our power stopped at some point, but now the washer will not turn on at all and the door is locked (with clothes inside). Any ideas?

You could have a stopped up screen where the water enters the water valves. Turn off the water and remove the hoses from machine. Remove the little cone-shaped screens and clean them out. Also, check the clear hose going to water level switch. You may have to cut off the ends and re-attach to get a good seal. If you blow in this line to water level switch you should hear it clicking, if not it may be bad. You will have to check several things with the meter before you can know what is wrong, but check the water first.
