    Child support help
HI, I recently went to court with my ex because he has a balance of $2000 in cash arrears that he has not paid on since 2009. There has been a court order for him to pay me that balance every Friday on top of his 131/wk through probation. While in court I thought that the judge said everything was fine and he would put the 2k through CS also, however when I got home and read the court order it was not mentioned. So I called and was then told that my case was dismissed without predgudice? Im not too sure what this means, can anyone help me?
    Thank you

Dismissed without prejudice means you can file again in the future. The case is not "dead." I don't understand how a dismissal and an Order got confused.

    What State?

I live in NJ. Yeah I was under the impression while in court that it was just going to be put through child support because my ex acknowledged that he does owe me the 2k cash plus is 700 or so behind through probation? Where do I go from here? It took so long to get this court date, I'm devastated at the thought of starting all over again.

You file again, that is all you can do at this point, have an attorney next time

That's the worst part. I went to see a lawyer before I went and she told me that I didn't need one for an arrears case? Do you know what I need to bring? I had my latest receipts and I also had my ex recorded saying that he knows he owes the money, amongst many other things? The judge didn't seem to care? I definitely plan on re-filing though, I'm just unsure what to do different this time
