    Late ovulation and pregnancy
    Hi everyone,
I am new to this site, and hopefully someone out there can shed some light on my situation... I ovulated on day 25 of my cycle(normally a 28/29 day cycle).. it is now day 35 and as yet no sign of my period, I say no sign but for the past few days I have been feeling it was on its way, the past day or so I have felt very strongly it had arrived(it hadnt) and have had crampy, sharp pains on my left side.. I took a test about two days ago and it was negative. My question is, has anyone any idea what this could be? Yes!! I am trying for a baby, but with my late ovulation could that be at all possible, I heard later the ovulation the less likely pregnancy is... help please... thank you in advance for any replies.

I would say you are just going to have to wait it out. I don't chart my ovulation, but I'm starting to think I also O later in my cycle. I usually go by the cervical mucous. I always try around days 12-16, and after that we have a normal sex life (4-5 times a week). I, too had/have the cramping and also had the sharp pains on my left side for a little less than a week before my period was due. I'm currently 7 days late and still am testing negative. I would imagine that if you have a later ovulation you won't test positive until later. I had the cervical mucous consistent with ovulation around days 22-25, so I'm guessing that is when I ovulated instead of 12-15. If I'm not pregnant this month I'm going to start tracking ovulation. I hadn't done so thus far because I don't want things to become clinical. Anyway, all we can do is wait it out. Take a test at 7 days late. If it is still negative wait until day 10. After that call your doctor. Hope we're both pregnant! ******Baby Dust******

It makes no difference if you ovulate late, you have still released an egg. Ask the doctor tot ake a pregnancy blood test, when you are at least 10 days late.
