Sewer smell in house in very cold weather
We live in a double wide mobile over an unheated basement. The basement is conservative with concrete floor. There is no direct access from the house. In very cold weather, the sewage door is horrible in both house & basement! We also have a septic system. We extended both bathroom vents last year. What is causing this problem??

    Two thoughts

    1) did smell start when vents were extended ?

    2) recent cold weather froze something ? It is ZERO Fahrenheit at my house. Wondering if recent cold weather froze something that is not allowing the septic tank to vent ?

If I think of anything else will email

I've encountered empty P traps at tub drains. Could be cracked or just loose enough to allow water to leak out.

Have dealt with frozen waer pipes. That was esay, but darn cold, to deal with. Guess eliminate one problem after another? Darn smell is tiring to deal with.
