Do I have to change the names of the house deeds, as my husband passes away in November. In his will everything is left to me

How was the deed made out to start with,
What country is this in ? We are international, laws in Spain differ from England
Assuming you may be US, has the will been though probate ?

Again assuming this is in the U.S. the appointment of an executor would be by the probate court. Yes, a will can name someone as executor, but until a probate application is filed, it's just a piece of paper.
