I started having a brown discharge about a week ago. Usually I get this a day or 2 before my period but this has been happening for 7 days now. The discharge is very light, I have been using panty shields. I have all the other other symptoms I get with my period such as pain and sore breast but no period just this dark brown stuff. I am 43, could this be premenopause?

It does sound as though you are going through perimenopause. I am almost 43 and this happens to me about every 6 months. I do not get a regular period, only this twice a year.
