Can my p.o. legally take my phone?
I haven't been charged with anything and I have no pending violations or dirty ua's but my p.o. decided to take my phone. Is that legal if I haven't done anything? Thanks

PO, probation or parole ? Adult or Juv ?
What country, Spain, France, US ?

    If US, what state ?
Federal level or state level ?

What type of crime are you convicted of to have a PO.

Did he take it just to look though it, check photos, check text messages and then give it back ?

Im origianally on felony probation in ada county in Idaho in the united states. I have one charge of grand theft on my record and no violations no dirty ua's nothing. I went to see my p.o. and he took it and is holding it until further notice. Im not sure its legal, that's why I'm asking. Thank you.

He may take it to look though it, but would have had to give you a receipt for it, since he took it as evidence to investigate.
No he can not just keep it till further notice and you have a right to demand it back after a few hours.
