I am connecting a new Thermostat #RTH11181016. I think my wires are crossed. What is the proper way to connect wiring?

Is your system a heat pump, or conventional forced air unit? Central a/c installed? What wires do you have at the stat, and what terminals in the furnace do those stat wires hook to?

That is a Honeywell number, almost. It doesn't show in my data so please double check the number. How many wires come out of the wall and what colors?
