3 inch white pvc cannot connect to black pvc
I have waste line, black abs under mobile home and needed to replace a section, bought white pvc, I thought the black was 3 inch and I bought 3 inch pvc, but the
White is larger in diameter by just a little but enough so you cannot cement together, is there a bushing or a transition piece to bring the black abs to the correct diameter of the 3 inch white pvc.

Plumbing code does not allow cementing different plastics together. Get 2 Fernco fittings and join them that way.

Brian nailed it! Code does not permit commingling PVC and ABS. Use metal shielded couplings (see image) to make the connbe3ction. Good luck, Toim

Plastic pipes expand and contract at different temps so a cement joint would be a weak spot and likely to fail. Code is frequently there for a good reason.
