I charged my phone and when I went to turn it on the screen lit up and went off. What else can I do? I took the battery out and it didn't work. There was no damage at all so I don't know why it won't turn on.

What sort of phone?

An Apple iPhone can do a "hard reset" (have to look up on Google - forgotten what process is - home and power held down for 30 seconds or something, perhaps while connected via USB to computer, something like that, does a "factory reset").

If it is another brand Google search for "hard reset" or "factory reset" and the brand and model. Actually if you already took the battery out then it is almost certainly not an iPhone! So do the above search, or at least post here the model and brand :)
