I am an International Student on an F1 VISA doing my OPT. I recently married my long time boyfriend (a US citizen) at a registered ceremony at the New York city clerk office. Unfortunately my husband is currently working as a contractor with the US military in Doha, Qatar and had to go back. I am planning on doing to Doha to be with him. I was wondering since he is not in the country should I still apply for a VISA status adjustment? Or should I wait till we come back to the US? Also, if I leave the country like that and try to come back later as his wife would I face any complications?

Maintain your F-1. You cannot change status according to marriage since your husband is not in US.
