What would make my furnace turn off and on and not blow hot air

I have a bryant furnace. There is a red light blinking through the bottom window of the furnace. And the furnace will blow but no heat. The gas does not come on. Im thinking the red light blinking is telling me something is wrong. Can anyone help. Thank you.
