There's just a tiny dent I'd like to fill. If I simply touch it up with a marker no one would notice but I'm a perfectionist! Do I need a diff. product made specifically for laminate, or will this be OK?

No... ALL laminates are prefinished... putty isn't a finish... its a base to fill a hole BEFORE you apply a finish.

Leave it alone... you will only make it a lot worse...
