I am glad you finally quit but why did it take 20 weeks. But yes it is possible that it will.

    Hello J:

I'm missing something here... Meconium is typically NOT released into a baby's bowel movements until after birth. However, occasionally a baby will have a bowel movement prior to birth, excreting the meconium into the amniotic fluid.

Is a test for pot USUALLY done on new mothers/babies? If so, why meconium?

Yes exy you are correct in a sense. However it takes several bowel movements over a 24 to 48 hour period for a baby to completely rid its bowels of meconium. It's not a one time event.

With that said, we only test the meconium if necessary. Not all babies are tested.
