HELP! Extra contraception for beginning of Alesse 28?
So I know that you should use condoms when you FIRST start Alesse for the first 7 days to insure that when you start having unprotected sex, the pill will be effective.
My question is: Does that rule apply to the packs of Alesse for the months that follow?
I also know that the pill isn't 100% effective but apart from that, should I wear condoms every time I start a new pack of Alesse? Are the first pills of that pack ineffective since I just went through 7 days of placebo pills?

You better do it more than the first 7 days... you better do it the entire first month. I don't know where you got the "rule" from but its wrong.

And even then... unless you are ready to have a kid, continue to use condoms too... the pill is NOT 100% effective.

I can point out TWO moderators here that had kids while on the pill AND using condoms... one, a registered nurse had it happen twice.

    So think about it...

I did do it for the first month.
But I actually need an answer because I'm on the second month now and I had unprotected sex 3 days into the new pack and I'm getting nervous now, I just want to know what to think.

No, once you have been on it for a month, it is as effective as it will be from them on.

So no, you do not have to wear a condom the fist 7 days of each pack.

With that said, you know the pills are not 100 percent, so a condom anytime would not be a bad idea if you want to be safer
