You strip back the insulation. Most switches have a strip gauge embossed on the switch. Then push the wire into the hole. This assumes solid, not stranded wire.
This type of connection is known to develop bad connections over time. Better to put wires under screw terminals.
Show pic of new switch or give model number.
I can't answer your question, but I think you meant Pass and Seymour. not Seymore.
Just to help people who might answer your question.
It appears that that switch is designed for mobile homes and does not require installation be in a fire rated box. It appears that the switch is disassembled and the wiring connections are made inside. Apparently the wires are forced into the connection slots when the back is reinstalled. I'm only guessing, can only tell so much from pictures.
They are like the connectors you use on trailers, the wires are forced through a slot and it cuts into the wire. I would get a regular old work box and a new Decora switch and eliminate the entire setup.
Thanks guys! Neighbor fixed it and next I will be replacing all switches!
Well, you could tell us what he did.
