    Subpane wire size
Another question regarding a large shop/barn I am wiring. The main service will be a 200 amp panel. Since the distance from the main service panel is so far to the other side of the barn, I thought I would put a subpanel in the middle of the barn (where the shop section will be). There are two large parking stalls on each side of the shop area. I thought the subpanel could be a 100 amp panel that will feed the shop area, and the stall area that is so far away from the main panel (about 60 feet). My question is - what size wire should I use to feed the subpanel from the main panel.
    Thank you. Guy

Use #2 aluminum 4 wire SER cable, just be sure to use antioxidant compound on any aluminum connection. Also be sure to install a separate equipment ground bar in the subpanel for any bare or green ground wires. Only white neutral wires will connect to the neutral bar.
