Change 2 plug to 4 plug outlet
How can I change the standard 2 plug recepible, with ground prong to a 4 plug. Is there rewiring involved?

Assuming that you mean you have a standard, grounded, duplex receptacle (place to pug two appliances in) and wish to have two of these, the answer is yes.
You must remove the existing box (in the wall), enlarge the hole and install larger box, known as a two gang "old work" box, then wire the hot and neutral from the existing duplex outlet to the new outlet.

As Hk said, but there are other things to consider. Every outlet goes back to a circuit breaker or fuse on the house panel. Each breaker/fuse is rated as to amperage. If you put devices that draw too many amps of power, you could be constantly tripping the breaker or burning out the fuse.

You can purchase an outlet adapter or power strip with its own breaker that can increase the number of outlets available from one.

    Greetings, Happy New Year

Most if not all hardware stores carry a two receptacle to quad receptacle converter. Itjust plugs into the two receptacle unit.

You don't have to rewire or make holes in your wall. Butyou do need to make sure that 6the connected load does not cause the breaker to trip.
