    Grinding noises in knee
I am 31 years old and have been a can for almost 12 years. My left knee is making grinding noises and it hurts a lot. Should I be concerned or just go with the fact, its probably arthritis or something like that? I also get a burning sensation in it from time to time but not all the time.

Arthritis and other conditions often go hand in hand. It might also be bursitis or chondromalacia. I've had noises and pains in my knees for about 30 years (I'm 66) but mostly the one I injured in a fall back then. I know that synovial fluid leaked out.

What to do? Preventive measures are losing weight, gentle exercise and soaking in warm tubs, avoiding prolonged standing and sitting in one place. A CNA is often bending forward over a patient. Try to be aware of how you bend, keeping your back as straight as you can and bending your knees instead. You should see an orthopedist sooner rather than later, even though many people wait until they can't walk. Surgery has advanced a lot, and is now so common that people are handled in group pre- and post-op sessions to help keep costs down.
